* Do you think you have what it takes to be a Television Writer?
* Can you survive "In the Room" as a television staff writer?

If so, or if you want to learn, the Scriptwriters Network has the interactive event for you!

Participating writers will be randomly assigned to genre groups (two-person writing teams can be kept together) and will spend the next few hours collaborating with the other writers at the table to develop a television show.

The table will come up with the season arc for their show, character arcs, and the kinds of stories they will tell over the course of the season, all the while sticking to the conventions of their genre.

At the end of the workshop, each group will pitch their show to everyone.

Industry professionals who have worked as paid staff writers will act as show runners and keep the "writing staff" focused and productive.

So if you're a sitcom writer and you're assigned to a procedural cop show, can you insert comedic moments while sticking to the tone of the show?

If you write science fiction shows but are assigned to a romantic comedy, can you still contribute valuable ideas to the show?

Can you prove that you're a professional and a creative asset no matter what show hires you?

Please be prompt, as this event will start right on time.
